What do contract managers do?
Contract managers work closely with the builder and with all other parties associated with the management of construction. Contract managers make sure that both the builder and the client are protected under legislation and ensure the quality, cost and timing of the project
How do a become a contract administrator?
Firstly, you will need to do some work experience so that you know what the job is about. If you think it’s for you, you can find an employer that is looking for a cadet contract administrator. Alternatively, you can go directly into training at a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) such as TAFE and begin courses from certificate IV level right up to Advanced Diploma.
What Next?
Contract administrators work in all types of construction company from small builders to huge corporations or government. Once you are a qualified contract administrator, you can apply for a Building Services Authority licence. You might also want to move into other areas of construction management such as project management or building.
