Find out more about career opportunities in the Queensland building and construction industry – whether you are just starting out or looking for a career change. The Be Constructive® Construction Careers Expo will be held on the construction site of the new Gold Coast University Hospital. Students from high schools across the Gold Coast region will have the opportunity to meet with key industry representatives and will have the chance to participate in a hands-on Try’a Trade® from WorldSkills™ event that will be supported by Careers Australia Industry Training, Gold Coast Institute of Tafe, Boral Plasterboard, ABBTF and Fugen. Try’a Trade® will include carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing, boilermaking, plastering, landscaping, painting and decorating, tiling and electrical. Students will also view the new construction site up close as they take a tour of the site guided by staff of Principle Contractor, Bovis Lend Lease. Bovis Lend Lease is once again hosting the event after the success of the 2008 Construction Careers Expo 2008, which was held during the expansion of the Robina Town Centre shopping centre.
